St Mary’s Equality Objectives 2025-2026                      (In line with the Equality Act 2010 and rooted in our Catholic ethos)

At St Mary’s Catholic School we believe that equality is not simply a statutory duty but a moral commitment. As a Catholic school, we are called to recognise Christ in one another and to build a community where every child and adult is respected, valued and enabled to flourish.

Objective 1                                                                      Ensure all pupils develop their speech, language and communication skills in order to be able to articulate their learning and understanding with confidence.

Objective 2                                                                                                      Provide a curriculum that reflects and celebrates the richness of different, backgrounds and faiths promoting mutual respect and understanding.

Objective 3                                                                                                        Ensure that all SEND pupils have full access to the curriculum and wider learning opportunities by providing appropriate adaptations and support (reviewed through Pupils progress meetings and Learning Support Plans).

Objective 4                                                                                                      Continue to address any attainment gaps for all our disadvantaged pupils, ensuring that every child is supported to flourish academically and emotionally.

Objective 5                                                                                                      Strengthen communicationa nd engagement with families from all background, ensuring that every family feels welcome , valued and supported.
