Why is 2025 a Jubilee Year in the
Catholic Church?
In the Catholic Church, a Jubilee or Holy Year is a designated time for forgiveness and reconciliation, offering an opportunity for people to restore their relationship with God, with others, and with all of creation.
The theme for the 2025 Jubilee Year is "Pilgrims of Hope." Pope Francis has called Catholics to renew their hope and embrace a vision that can "restore access to the fruits of the earth for all." Additionally, we are invited to rediscover a spirituality rooted in God's creation, where we see ourselves not as masters of the world, but as "pilgrims on the earth."
2025 Jubilee Year
A Special Parish Mass
We have continued with the celebrations of the Jubilee Year launch at St Mary’s by taking part in the special Holy Mass on the 31st January. Father Damian celebrated the Mass for the school and the parish. Father opened the Mass with a beautiful message about us all being Pilgrims of Hope and the importance of living our lives in hope and gratitude.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Father Damian for the beautiful Mass and lovely homily which gave example to how hope has the power to transform lives!
